The time has finally come, @girlsonlytreehouse !!!

Today I shall share with you the fruits of my work. But first, allow me to take you on a journey I myself have been through while counting all of this shit down.

First things first, I decided to count the rolls in the context of the characters rather than the people playing them, simply because the luck of the actual people could not be measured accurately if I only take Riptide into consideration (and also I thought it would be more fun). The guys have several different campaigns, some that I do not have access to, so I've decided to seperate all their Riptide rolls into characters they play instead, cause then we can clearly see which character is the luckiest. But ofc if you want this to be attributed differently, the data remains unchanged, so that way you all can interpret the results however you wanted and still have all the info you need on hand.

Another issue were the advantage/disadvantage rolls. When a character rolls at advantage, they roll twice and the only roll that counts is the one that was higher, while the other is discarded and the opposite goes for disadvantage. So for example if you roll at Disadvantage and you roll a nat 20 and a 2, that nat 20 technically doesn't matter. Despite that I decided to count each adv/disadv roll anyway, because despite the fact that it does not count, it was still physically ROLLED, which means it contributes to the character's overall pool of luck. I tried to separate them at first so you guys can make your own decision whether to add them or not, but in the end I decided against it cause it was insanely hard to keep up with. There were just too many and too often, which led me to believe that it was fair enough to count everything as long as they actually rolled a dice.

Which brings me to the last complication, which is of course Gillion's Prophetic Screwup. At the beginning of the campaign Gillion was able to exchange anything that he actually rolled into a nat 20, and in return the DM can change any roll he does afterwards into a nat 1. That way there was supposed to be an equal number of wild unrolled nat 20's and nat 1's to balance Gillion out back to 0, but it didn't turn out this way. In more cases than not, Grizzly would either forget or fail to find a good place to screw Gillion over, so the ability bacame much too unbalanced. So they changed it somwhere in the middle of Edison Kingdom Arc. From then on, if Gill rolled anything from 1-10 it would automatically become a nat 1, and if he rolled from 11-20, that'd be a nat 20 instead. Either way these rolls had nothing to do with luck, as he wasn't actually rolling anything, thus I decided not to count these 'artificial' nat 20's/1's. However I did keep track of them nonetheless and I'll still give you the number of those, just separately, and from then on you guys can make your own decision on whether or not you wish to count it.

OOOFFF ALRIGHT.

Without further ado, here are the nat 20's results (up to ep106):

Gillion: 52

Chip: 58

Jay: 55

Goobleck: 8

Surprised? Yeah I was as well. First things first I never expected this to be this close. And never in my right mind could I possibly predict that it would he CHIP of all people to have the highest score here. But I've seen it with my own eyes. And tell you what. Jay had this in the bag for most of the damn series. She would consistently roll good and always when you need a good roll the most. There were times when she would have such a massive lead it was unthinkable she could loose it. But then she would just kinda...stop rolling good for a bit and allow the other two to catch up. It just wasn't as visble if you don't pay much attention, but I thought it to be cute. It's as she was waiting for them <3 But she was still mostly leading. It was only the current arc that made Chip surpass her. After his terrible luck in Feywilde, he bounced back so strongly right after, that he managed to jump in front of the luck queen herself.

And now I bet you're curious about the other side of the coin. Give it up for natural 1's!:

You see, I kind of expected it to be Gill, but I need you guys to know that this wasn't the case at all times. Jay? Yes. If there is one thing that's consistent is that she had the lowest amount of natural 1s at all times almost, but the person that was suffering from nat 1 curse for a long while was Chip. In the Feywilde Arc he would be so far ahead of everyone, that I was genuinely sure that there is no way anyone catches up to him. But then he popped off in the next arc with nat 20's and Gillion? Oh my gosh, Gillion didn't disappoint. I've never seen a man fail this much let me tell you XD He ended up with the least nat 20's as well, but I thought the difference would be much higher until he didn't roll 4 fucking nat 20s in ep 100 and then this double nat 20 attack roll in the Black Sea whduihdius AND HE CAUGHT UP AS WELL, more or less.

Idunno, maybe this is just how luck works, but it truly seems that the trio shares their successes and burdens almost equally. They support each other and in return fate has their backs as well. Honestly I couldn't have hoped for better results. Also can we give shout out to Goobleck, the true MVP? He's been on the show only for a while but look at this nat1 - nat20 ratio!!! Go goop man goo!!!

So now for the additional stuff that I also counted just for fun:

*Prophethic screwup nats:

Before the rules changed Gillion replaced 8 of his rolls into natural 20s, and in return Grizzly replaced 3 of his rolls into natural 1s.

After the rules changed he only got high enough number for 4 nat 20s, and a low enough number for 7 nat 1s.

So that together makes additional 12 nat 20s and 10 nat 1s from the prophetic screwup alone. I don't think they should be added, but the numbers are there so feel free to do whatever you want with them :)

Downs and death saves:

Throughout the campaign Gillion went down 14 times and rolled 8 death saves.

Chip went down 6 times and rolled 4 death saves.

Jay went down 4 times and rolled 3 death saves.

No shocker here, Gillion dies a lot XD

Knights:

In their journey Gillion knighted 4 people: Julien Booker, Clorton, Garrieth and Duke.

my alternate readings/translation/interpretation of jp lines are for triangulation purposes and nothing else.

ch 10-12. a more general scattershot of a post than over analyzing the japanese texts this time round. i think meryl in these 3 chapters is the most interesting character for me. but mainly bc she seems to be carrying a baggage: her struggle with filial piety.

filial piety.

filial piety for a lot of asians is... kind of hard to break down. but perhaps can be explained as "abandoning ones' parents is the worst sin one can do".

not being filial is an invitation to the most extreme judgement from relatives and outsiders in a society which upholds it as the absolute virtue. at least, for the most part. (late stage capitalism fucked it all up yayy)

abandonment can be in the form of presence and/or financial. if a child doesnt make bank to pay back for their parents raising them up, they're not filial. if a child is absent and not there to take care of their parent, thats not filial.

and not being grateful, not being filial, equals shame and warrants divine punishment. (check out folklores like momotaro and kaguyahime that touches on these themes)

meryl i think struggles with that bc shes likely an only child who is expected to work an office job after studying super hard for it, and is now living independently away from her parents. meaning, she is technically not present to take care of them, which in this context makes her feel immensely guilty.

to make matters worse, it sounds like shes one of those types where her parents possibly had to work a lot to pay for this and that, resulting in a severe lack of communication. so this compounds, and she can only write dry stuff in her mind.

milly, by the way, does not have this problem as much:

she has a lot of siblings who can shoulder the weight of it all together, so in terms of that filial piety stress shes not doing so bad.

Badwick, the focus of this arc, by the way, faces the same struggles with meryl:

i mentioned the financial part bc from how chill the parents are with him, i think its possible he was trying to sell the land for large sums of money for his parents to retire. theres an added level of resentment going on that complicates their dynamic, with a dead brother and a land that means too much to sell for any sum of money.

and also his parents are... too nice and understanding, jeez.

i dont think meryl has the resentment. i think her case was similar in that her parents worked hard to provide and kinda neglected her in the connection part.

ofc this might then bring up the question of, 'isnt filial piety kinda transactional?', and, yeah. it... frankly can be. some parents have weaponized it, knowing that a society which forces unconditional love and financial support from a child is a good retirement plan. and it sucks. nightow must have realized this and sidestepped it.

whether bc it will not be well received by the then jp audience or if he just doesnt want to tell a story about this, i dont know. there could also be the fact that the 90s was a bad time to be talking about securing retirement for parents when the economy was circling the drain.

trigun gets dark later. we are getting love and peace above all else, at least for now.

so kinda the reverse of how it was with josie- gale instantly feels bonded to him and john has a little bit of a harder time.

loves him so much already, is worried sick with all the preemie health stuff he's got going on. its just hard to process how fast everything is happening. if him and gale had sat down and decided to go the infant adoption route that'd be one thing.

in that case he'd have a lot more time to work through his hurdles re: being scared of having a baby, of being responsible for someone's life from scratch etc etc. but here he only had the drive back from wisconsin.

Anyway time to explain some shit

The boy on the left is regular Tom and the one on the right is him halfway transformed Teefers too big for him mouth and I'm just now realizing I forgot to draw Tom's snake bites and other earrings fuck me oml Oh and he gets fuzzier cause in order to transform to and fro his demon form his body speeds up the growth process to help with the pain (something that developed, it was not instantaneously there and it's not perfect, the process is still INCREDIBLY painful he does not enjoy it)

Anyway, I wanted to say that usually a demon's horns (in my headcanon anyway) usually represent age, but there are certain sins that don't follow this rule such as Wrath and Lust, instead their horns represent power and status more than anything (the larger the horns, the more powerful you're considered and better treated you are in society) but even then not every demon will have horns, like Envy or Sloth

To explain my demon hierarchy and world building would take several posts and multiple AO3 books for everyone to properly understand it the way I see it but just know that there are 7 sins, the seven deadly sins, that each demon falls under (more or less, anyway), there are the original sins, the children they created asexually like starfish do and then their children mingling together and creating different races of demons and complex hybrids,,, pretty much every demon you see will be a mutt save for very high class demons (such as the OG sins and the demons that have the most "pure" blood of their predecessors)

Tom is based off of two things, besides demons n dragons ofc: Snakes and Spiders. I fucking hate spiders you have no idea how much looking this shit up sucked

Anyway his venom is stored in his teeth like how spiders are, but he's got a very snake-ish mouth. And can open his jaw super fucking wide like a snake or certain species of spiders can. To the best is a very simplified side profile example of that,,,, maybe I should make some body horror art of him with his fully extended jaw like some freak ass spider. That'd give me nightmares. Which I guess is the point.

Diving a bit deeper into my demon world building lore that's been brewing in my head for nearly a decade now (yikes that hurts to think about) demons have different builds, Pride and Lust tend to be very similar to society's standards of beauty (ever changing as humans adapt, so do demons... hmmm) versus Gluttony and Wrath tending to be more nightmarish and your run of the mil cryptid you'd see in the woods when you were fucking around where you shouldn't be

Every House or Sin has their own symbol, usually reserved for the original sins, but Tom is a special case because,,, reasons I'm not disclosing at the moment cause I think it's silly and shit or whatever I dunno I guess I'm embarrassed to explain it? For some reason? Anyway back to this

It's a lion with horns that can be interpreted as Scorpion Tails, because the sin of Wrath is usually associated with Lions, Bears, Dragons and I think Scorpions fit, too, makes me think of the scorpion and the frog

I'm Gonna Dump a Bunch of Welcome Home Thought Nonsense Here

Because I am so normal about the latest update and usually I theorise with a friend but rn I'm anxious I'm annoying them for some reason asldjfnasdlf

Considering the update from the "Mental Health theme" standpoint,

what we've seen both Eddie and Wally experience is very dissociation coded. With Wally, he was having spaceouts whenever he was around people but they were conversing without him/talking over his head. Idk as a speech impaired person that really really sprung out to me - I think the feeling of being excluded in the interaction COULD (big could) be related to whatever is going on with him. In Eddie's case, he just spent the entire day increasingly freaking out about not being useful, nobody needing him to do his job, only to come to the party and actually find out that they DIDN'T need him - they did his job for him. It was intended as a kind gesture, but Eddie is starting to come off as someone who 'needs to be needed', who's eager to please, will do anything and everything people ask of him (even to his detriment) in the name of doing a good job and being acknowledged. For someone like that, the takeaway might be "they don't need me and I don't have value", and yeah, that'd be hella distressing and, if you happen to have dissociative tendencies, potentially triggering of an episode. Also, they both seem distressed by the idea of people not interacting with them/having to be alone or alone with their thoughts. What am getting at is mayhaps their respective spacing moments are related to their individual struggles/social trauma.

Orr maybe that's barking completely up the wrong tree.

Home was ofc specifically called attention to in Eddie's episode, with that shot of its eye gradually becoming redder. I saw someone on Reddit observe that the "single pea on a plate" thing might be symbolic of the circle of houses with Home/the pit underneath it in the centre (full credit to u/Luz-y-Luna over there for that) and given Eddie had his Moment when faced with the dish in his hand, it supports the idea that he "woke up/remembered" or realised something was very wrong at that moment.

I have other thoughts about the "Media and commercialisation" standpoint but they're tied into thoughts about the Hallowe'en update since I'm also only catching up on that now, so I'll, idk, do them in a separate post or smth ig

I discussed with Feila some of my ideas for the first KuroEne AU Route, and some other aspects of Saeru's "love" in the context of this ship AU

I remember back then when I was a kid, Hama, a huge 9/6 (HaruTaka, KonoEne, and KuroEne) fan artist in the KagePro EN fandom back then, made a post that went something like:

"WHOSE HAND IS THAT??? 10 BUCKS THAT HAND IS KUROHA… SHUT UP MY OTP VISION IS INTENSE. IS THAT KONOHA, ENE, AND KUROHA FLASHING IN THE DAZE MV’S FRAMES??? HUFFS HUFFS"

Me: In my case, I was like. 12. When I first got into KagePro and started drawing KuroEne, and I still have most of those drawings (tho ofc my kid self's arts look like blargh to the current me)

LIKE I WAS VERY YOUNG AT THE TIME AND INTO KAGEPRO EVEN BEFORE MCA AND THE DAZE MV CAME OUT...

Ok in terms of art concepts, I'd love to draw Saeru as the darkened hand. But realistically, I'd say Haruka.

But I’d LOVE to draw a KuroEne fanart version based on my HCs

Saeru is only in my headcanons (arts and writing ideas) in the context of my ship AU. Just cuz I think it'd be tasty in a fanon setting.

If I really wanna go there, Konoha, Kuroha/Saeru, and Ene all have their bits during the 2nd chorus of Daze (start, middle, end). So I can just run with that

F: It would be hurtful if Kuroha's is the only one trying to reach Ene, while Ene doesn't seem to care due to his true intentions (or maybe vice versa???) OR Ene trying to reach for Konoha, but even if Konoha does reach for her, he seems to be confused on why she's trying to reach him

Me: OOOGH yeah that'd be such delicious angst... I was just planning on having their compositions mirror each other

KuroEne AU: First Route + Saeru's "Love"

Me: Ngl I have a bunch of ships where it's one character is fucking obsessed with the other, and the other character is normal amounts of passionate/devoted about them

Me: (KuroEne’s Relationship: Pre-Betrayal)

Kuroha → Obsessed (^-^)

Ene → This guy is cool (:D)

F: Lowkey wondering how he got infatuated by Ene in the first place. Not in a bad way, I understand Ene can pull off both cute and sexy, but how can a guy like him, look at Ene, and go "Yeah I wanna fuck her"

Especially when she doesn't have a human body at the time he decides that

Me: I got more to say on this later (for the future), since I’ve written rambles about it before, but I think the first KuroEne Route starts with him thinking of ways of how to indulge his curiosity even more since he eventually gets tired of JUST killing everyone. He wants to experiment new ways to make the new Routes more fun for him, so he decides to indulge in carnal pleasures.

In MR1, after Haruka and Takane's deaths, he has a line that's something along the lines of, "Finally, the year I've spent preparing for this all seems worth it... With this, I can open the key to the next Kagerou Daze"

So yeah, I think he has the patience to pull it off - setting up the game himself, going through the experiments to sate his curiosity and wanting to add to his knowledge bank.

I think the "rewarding outcome" from him setting up all this + his indulgence later on, will be worth it for him.

So first, he starts coming up with ways on how to make the game more exciting. So then he starts thinking of who he should approach for the game of indulgence.

And bingo, Ene is an easy choice due to his vessel because she is more affected by Haruka/Konoha than anyone else.

Then it becomes a selfish twisted obsessive infatuation where he becomes obsessed with leaving his mark (imprints) on her soul across timelines because of the way he asserts himself into his S/O’s life. His relationship with them will become a ever constant presence, an undeniable fact, apart of the eternal cycle.

F: "Obsessed with leaving his mark and tainting her soul"

Oh this guy is FUCKED in the head. But we love him for that

Me: I see it as like "I'll dye you in my own colour."

Me: And also I imagine he’d be really interested in the outcomes? He's never done anything like mess around with android body tech before. And so, the start of the KuroEne AU is the beginning of Kuroha’s Android/Robot fucker pipeline

Me: He purposefully muddles the line of what is a lie and what isn't cuz he genuinely enjoys playing up to his act. Like how I see it is that, he did genuinely enjoy his time together with her, and enjoyed the act of playing nice, but obviously still prioritizes his own selfish goals of immortality and self-preservation in the end. It's also a Win for him cuz he gets to be with her forever (as a secondary goal)

F: Then he has a crush on her 🔥 /j

F: The fake act where he acted nice and catered to her a lot is still something I feel like he genuinely enjoyed doing. Like, endless looping and constantly meeting, cuz of his twisted desires… He's obsessed and possessive over her, while Ene is just "Yeah this guy is cool, and he's my bf!"

Me: Basically this. Kuroha/Saeru purposefully muddles what is a lie and what is truth. Not everything about their relationship was a lie. The mix of messy conflicting emotions in their relationship are real.

Me: Also I’d imagine it’d just be really rewarding for him? Since at that point, he's never done anything like mess around with human tech to that extent before (with Ene’s android body). So he’s interested in exploring all the different outcomes and seeing what remains the same, what’s different

F: And free extra knowledge for him cuz he's way ahead of scientist from his era

Misc Rambles

Me: I always separate my multiships into different AUs. I only make AUs for my very top faves (because they’re time consuming to make, and I want to dedicate my time and passion to my faves)

And I'm obsessed with KuroEne the most, both character-wise and ship-wise. I’ve been obsessed with them for 10 years, like that kind of love just does not go away... They’re very personal to me (both Kuroha and Ene)

I'm more surprised that I was very private about my love for them up until only recently in 2024. It's cuz I kept my rambles contained within my and my friends' discussion spaces instead of posting them publically. But I figured they can go here as archives.

F: So everyone does agree with Kuroha being the horny type of villain

Me: I mean... It's hard to imagine a guy who's the embodiment of knowledge, NOT indulging in his sadistic desires and pleasures.

Kuroha/Saeru, in the context of a ship AU, would inevitably be the sadistic & obsessive type when it comes to expressing his form of love

F: Let him enjoy getting laid before committing murder 🔥

Me: Cuz I imagine he'd get bored of JUST killing everyone at some point so he looks for other ways to make the game more entertaining. The first KuroEne AU Route would be really interesting to write about cuz it'd basically set up all the other Routes that come after it.

F: Yeah, I wonder how it goes too. You're the writer, uh... I depend on you—

Me: I'll probably come up with ideas for it sometime... Cuz it's the first one, I want to put a lot of care into writing it.

Right now, I'm mainly focused on writing KuroEne misc scenarios (non-plot related scenarios) and the KuroEne AU Route where MaryEne team up against him (which is a really long Route, so I’ve been slowly writing scenarios for it and posting it on my socials)

The first one means KuroEne AU scenarios that come to my mind that I write down since I don't want to forget them, but haven't organized into a specific Route for, yet.

F: I'm grateful for anything. Yum yum content

Me: Considering that I came up with a lot of KuroEne scenarios, I'm sure I can come up with something fitting in character context. I'm also grateful for you adding onto my ideas! It's fun to chat with you about it

F: Aaa I really need to start writing again

Me: It's fun to read your writing and scenario ideas too!

Me: I think only my top fave ships get full fledged fleshed out AUs. Cuz I want to devote my freetime and creativity bursts to my faves. In this case, it's powered by my love for my meow meow mf faves (my sons) and my wives.

My AUs tend to focus on just the ship itself and any relevant background charas and ships are more on the side.

I also took some creative liberties (and made some assumptions) for the sake of my ship AU. Like I'm going purely off of "What makes the writing more interesting" for it

F: SAME. My other side ships are lowkey neglected rn

Me: Like, just in general, regardless of series, I like other pairs on the side, but I wouldn't make a whole ass AU for them cuz I'm not obsessed with other charas like I am with my top 1 - 3 fave charas of a series.

As I said, I rank my faves harshly. I’m either normal about you or I’m not.

3 is REALLY pushing it for me. Max amount of charas I'll be obsessed with is 3 - 4. It's usually only 1 - 2.

Takane/Ene has a very special & personal connection with me, since seeing Takane’s emotional issues, in some regards, was like seeing a mirror to myself. I've loved Kuroha, Ene, and KuroEne for 10 years

The exciting set up of Kuroha making Ene’s android body just makes things so fun. I think this KuroEne AU set-up I’ve come up with (the main KuroEne AU where Kuroha makes an android body and becomes intimate with Ene) is the best KuroEne AU out of all the ones I’ve come up with.

I also had an AU where Kuroha spends time and bonds with Ene while she’s still in the phone, but it’s not as fun as the main one.

I was considering making these the “Previous Routes” before Kuroha comes up with the idea to make the android body, or the “Prologue” of my main KuroEne AU.

I like seeing Kuroha/Saeru more as a guardian figure to his creator's family ^^

F: I love SetoMary, but I never wrote anything for them

Me: Making a whole AU takes a lot of effort from me cuz I put a LOT into writing one and fleshing out the set-up and such. Art, writing ideas (dialogue scripts), rambles, etc.

I feel this, like, I enjoy my side ships but they're more casual to me, so I wouldn’t make a whole AU for them. If I get free time, I wanna dedicate it to my faves.

The first KuroEne AU Route would be really interesting to write about cuz it'd basically set up all the other Routes that come after it

Me: Oh and also I’d say him deciding to mess around with the Routes has him thinking of how he can indulge in his pleasures and construct an elaborate game of his own design and making.

Takane/Ene is affected by his vessel more than anybody else since she has a special relationship with the person that he uses as his vessel (Haruka/Konoha), so it’ll be easier to approach her. She is easily trusting.

F: He is in full control of this, like he can just rewind by killing Mary's beloved ones. The fact Ene is not aware of anything until it's revealed, just shows how much control he has

Me: I agree! As I said before, he is essentially the Game Master and overseer of the world. Some events happen, not according to his plans (that would be minor setbacks for him), but it doesn't affect him very much (in terms of the end result)

Me: I think this is what makes the very FIRST KuroEne AU route interesting to think about. I haven't made dialogue scripts for it yet, but I should eventually.

Because at some point, he would get bored of killing everyone and then come up with the idea to indulge in carnal pleasures... And so, he decides to approach Ene cuz he knows her connection with the person he uses as his vessel

KuroEne AU Setup

F: The thing is, Kuroha can give Ene everything she wants. But it comes at a cost.

Me: Right? He WILL make all her wishes come true, but it comes at the ultimate cost.

Kuroha would acknowledge and point out to her, the fact that he made all of her wishes come true.

Well... All of them except one. The one she really wants.

(The wish to move onto the future with everyone and have a happy life)

I wrote dialogue scripts where he points that out to Ene that he DID make her wishes come true by fulfilling her need for emotional and physical closeness and connection by giving her a companion (through him).

Just need to refine them more...

F: I have to admit, the way your KuroEne AU is set up is very creative. Kuroha expressing his twisted love for Ene and doing it over and over again, because in the end, he still kills the MekaDan to rewind the world.

Me: Yeah, I love this AU setup so much. It's sooo interesting.

The concept + execution makes it so rewarding for me to create for

From a writing standpoint, it makes things soo fun to work with. Kuroha expressing his form of selfish, twisted, obsessive love because he still prioritizes his own goals and kills everyone in the end, thus feeding a never ending cycle of tragedy…

I consider Kuroha’s role to be like the Game Master and Overseer of the World. His role is to observe and to instigate the game and “Tragedy,” the endless cycle of death and rebirth.

(The term "Game Master" and its role is directly inspired by TWEWY, a niche JRPG)

Side track: We need a KagePro x TWEWY AU with Kuroha/Saeru as a Reaper in a TWEWY setting. It'd fit him so well. Ig that's up to me

He was clearly worried/distressed over his own mortality and “finite/limited time” so he wanted to find ways to retain his sentience to avoid disappearing. Because, isn’t disappearing an awful thing? He will drive the world to its destruction and end, every single Route, but “the true end of the game” will never come. Because he will make it so. He will make it so that the game never truly ends.

FGO: LB7 has a line that no matter what people do, humans will always arrive at and make the “wrong answers/conclusions.”

Since Saeru has observed the world for so long, he must’ve seen how humans made the “wrong answers” every time, regardless of how many Routes (timelines) he’s observed.

He wants the cycle to keep going so that he can live forever, and also, in the context of a Kuroha ship AU, because he enjoys the time he spent with his S/O. And that’s why he never wants it to end.

So he wants to create a “new source of despair to work with” to keep fueling emotions of despair and desperation, the sources of the wishes that makes Mary want to reset the timeline.

Saeru says that despair fuels, and is the source of peoples’ wishes. As Feila said, he has a sense of entitlement towards sentience.

He doesn’t care how many potential futures he robs, as long as he gets what he wants.

It’s not even just him driving these kids to despair and killing them, but that the whole world never grows a day older than the date the present plot starts (the day of August 15th that he decides to kill everyone.)

And the people of this world aren’t aware of this fact, either.

F: Snake of Clearing Eyes is like Mary's gay sibling that she hates /lh

Me: WHDSHDHSHS THIS IS HOW I SEE HIM. Especially since Kuroha/Saeru is the creation of Azami, and Azami is Mary’s grandmother. I also like seeing him as the guardian figure to their family. He’s the gay older brother/cousin/uncle (?) that the other Eye Ability Snakes and Mary don’t like /lh

It’s my best girls bias and yuri bias but I think about AyaTaka/AyaEne and MaryEne WAY more often than I think about SetoMary.

I’m almost always more obsessed with rare pairs. I have a tendency to gravitate towards rare pairs. It feels more personal to me that way.

People in the first wave include Anatoly and Callisto (Umbreon and Espeon respectively; introjects of the starters from Pokemon Colosseum), Dewy (from Dewy's Adventure), Ooccoo (from... Zelda? We've never even played a Zelda game.), the King of Sorrow (from Klonoa), and 02 (from Kirby 64). All of these guys formed when we were in single digits. This does not include other sysmates we're now aware of but have since disappeared like Togepi, Misty (yes. from Pokemon.), Gary the Snail, etc.

I'd say Anatoly and Callisto are the eldest since we got Colosseum at the age of like 3-4 (they did NOT form with those names btw, they recently came out of dormancy like last year fjdjsjdjd as a kid they were just Umbreon and Espeon) but idk for sure. I know Ooccoo formed because of Brawl and we were like 8-9 for that one. We got Dewy's Adventure when the Wii JUST came out. We'd have been... 7, maybe 8 depending on when we actually got one cuz I doubt it was on launch. No clue about Sorrow though cuz Lunatea's Veil came out in 2001 and that's. Yeah no.

I think Sorrow formed when we were at least 5 cuz we found out about Him through youtube. So uh. yippee?

Same goes for 02 though wdr when she formed. We vividly remember that was during the Restaurant Era™ (our parents owned a restaurant when we were a kid and we were stuck there very often .) though. And we were at LEAST 5 for that.

But we consider Ticky Tacky to be our "first" starmate despite obvious proof of that not being the case in retrospect DHSJjdjdj

And as for Cyn's role, she's like, one of the Coven Heads along w the other champs and two of Kalos' E4, so ofc she was already so so devoted to Diantha especially since they knew each other when they were younger, as Cyn was Augustine's friend back then. And ofc, Dia knew Cyn likes her, so it'd be easy to pull in Cynthia on her cause, especially since she also used Cynthia's grief over Augustine too

And ofc Cynthia was loyal ever since, she was such a good student in the Potions track when they were younger, so ofc, Dia appointed her as the head of the Potions Coven.

I really like the thought of being like Lilith tho fr ncmxnx she's one of the most loyal followers Diantha has, not once did she question Diantha's motives, her faith never wavered even if Diantha took her left eye, she stayed loyal to her even after she watched Diantha fail to recreate her brother from his own remains. Despite everything, Cynthia stayed w Diantha through it all.

And just jcmdnd ough imagine tho that yeah like you said Iris and Cynthia confrontation, probs another confrontation while Cynthia was out on a mission w Geeta to look for Titan's blood. She and Geeta got separated, and Cyn ended up finding Iris and her friends, also looking for Titan's blood, looking for the key. Cynthia attacked her ofc, they were just children, she was a powerful witch, they were no match for her. But she really underestimated them, the other five escaped while Iris was left face to face w Cynthia, and god Cyn just wants to kill her then and there and present her dead body to Diantha. Surely that'd be enough for Diantha to really be impressed w her

And just during the battle, Iris managed to land a hit on Cynthia, catching her off guard, her hair's a mess, got swept to the side and Iris saw that scar on her face. Iris stopped, but her guard was still up, Drayden's Palisman, Haxo, in her hands still, in case Cynthia was abt to attack her suddenly. But Cynthia didn't, instead, she hastily hid her left side again, before taking her own Palisman and charging back again too Iris.

Iris just blocks her attack and then just makes a comment abt Cynthia's scar, then Cyn sneered at her, "I failed a mission. Diantha was merciful, she didn't execute me, and it shows how she's such a benelovent empress. Something you aren't." She growled, pushing Iris to the ground, "and because of our last encounter, she almost killed me. All because of you. She was right, you humans will never be satisfied until blood is shed."

Iris blanched for a bit then shot back, "no, no, you're wrong! Diantha's treating you like shit! Why can't you see that?! She's hurting you!"

"this is merely punishment for my incompetence!"

"that's no excuse for her to hurt you!"

And Cynthia actually paused at that, no Iris was wrong, what Diantha did was right, Cynthia failed and her face, her eye, getting scarred was a suitable punishment. Tho, Iris took that chance, she created a smokebomb w the fire glyph, making a quick escape. Once Cynthia finally realized Iris was gone, she got pissed, screaming, she raged as she threw potions after potions everywhere in her hate. She didn't realized tears brimmed her eye until she fell down and saw the tears on the ground. She felt fear again, that fear of Diantha, that fear of being punished again. Her breathing became quick, visions blurry, she was clawing on the ground, her other hand was clutching her left eye, feeling those phantom pains again. She didn't know how much time has passed until Geeta found her, shaking her, "Cynthia, snap out of it."

"she's going to kill me.."

It took a bit, but Geeta realized what, or rather who, she's talking abt. "She won't. Do you really think she could do that? Are you questioning our empress?"

"no! No, of course not!" But her voice was shaking now too, she didn't wanna die

"then let's go. We already have what we came here for." She then showed Cynthia the key, broken with the Titan's blood dripping from the cracks, but there's still more within it. Of course. Geeta managed to find it. God she's really going to disappoint Diantha if she finds out, that she really ended up begging and bribing Geeta to never tell Diantha a word of what happened.

Tho, despite Geeta's promise, Diantha's still going to find out. After all, she has her precious Golden Guard watching over the Coven Heads during their missions.

Eiden at the moment's not as open with Wang Yi as Wang Yi is with him but that i think is more up to Eiden's own nature, he's just a little awkward with that (and i also need to think like what would he get help from wang yi about lmao but well we do kinda have thread on that already) but yeah! I don't think there's much to say about their time spending other than Eiden sometimes drags Wang Yi to do stuff (not that kind of stuff in this case) and sometimes Wang Yi also helps Eiden out at this job sometimes ... i think its pretty fine balanced thing where they can just be and have a good time? maybe started lighter and then got ...not heavier lmao but just... friend...stuff... my brain stopped working here my bad.

Eiden tends to take lead most of the time bc it just works out that way instead with him being the more experienced but he also asks what Wang Yi wants to try out and sometimes Wang Yi even suggests something. sometimes its just that it escalated into that and sometimes its them calling to other and being like "hey im coming over lets try that' except i feel like wang yi might not be that direct lmao.... also like while they try out lots of stuff sometimes they just sidetrack and do the ordinary route (for them).

Wang Yi makes this more often but Eiden definitely helps out when he can so sometimes they end up cooking together too. It's a lot rarer when Eiden cooks something and its likely to be either something he already makes often or something he wants to try out, maybe might make something when wang yi's sick (and other way around but eiden's not very likely to call anyone when he's sick tho he might call to ask if something needs to be done for work ...but im digressing) Since Wang Yi's a good cook Eiden's eats a lot, don't overfeed him though Wang yi lmao

I wanna sit in a pumpkin patch, listening to my music, play my 3ds, and just vibe. Why cant i just do that? Noooo there's no place anywhere. I wish there were local nature areas near me to do this at. Only place avaliable is like a mini area between the two neighborhoods with a small bridge. I need to go there and clean a lil area in the woods to vibe at.

One day i tried going there at night cause i wanted to hang outside just not sitting on the streets cause there's nowhere to vibe at. I saw something very dark in the shadows move suddenly and kinda freaked out ofc. I didnt even move my flashlight up to look just in case it was a man then i'd be fucked literally. Hate it. I gotta go sometime during the day only now cause nope! There are coyotes nearby and deer so couldve been that, hopefully was.

Also the way to that bridge in between is down someone's drive way cause theyre house is rightnin front of it. Its makes me scared just in case they think im some loser wanting to steal shit. I wish it was in a better spot. I wish there were woods near my house instead of some small thing of farmland. If I had someone that'd be the perfect area to vibe at while blasting music and chatting or playing around. Sigh. Someday i guess. I think autumn would actually be perfect to go in and make that lil space for myself. There's already a nice clearning for me to clean up. Maybe ill take a rainproof sheet and setbit up over a fallen branch to protect it. Yeah imma do that!!

i also feel like they also had a pr similar upbringing in that it was, in both cases, them w basically just their big brother against the world. in tristan's case, he also had a sister and gm, but they were much less involved yknow? but they also were destitute whereas alaric and roderick were in a palace, so like at once similar but VERY different as well, w the general sense that like...the world is dangerous. tbh idk if that'd necessarily ~endear them to e/o bc instead its this moment of watching before you dare attach urself to someone, but it would at least give a similar pov ig????? or at least one that the other could each recognize and understand

i think ive mentioned this before, but i do think tristan was pancake number one for godfrey in terms of crafting his ~perfect prince~ to take power after godfrey destroyed all the evil in the world (in godfrey's head yknow) but i think from the start godfrey was a lil frustrated w how tristan was turning out like...he just doesn't see him as ~that guy~ the one who can make the tough choices to navigate the new world to its ideal position after all that's terrible has been wiped away yknow plus it was always gonna be an insane uphill battle to get tristan to power anyway (but i think godfrey believes it ~has to be someone of calainon blood) but still tristan he felt was his only choice (bc lbr he ~was clear that it was noT gonna be amira hahahaha) but then there was edmund, in both a better position AND of a better disposition to do the job godfrey had ordained for him.

but as a result i feel like godfrey had this super intense connection w and focus on tristan, yknow, he was his whole hope for the future of mankind right??? and then just...zero warning, nothing, he just...drops him like a hot potato, and tristan never knew what he was planning or anything he just knew that he went from having this deep connection and then...nothing at all and like!!!!! that left tristan feeling v lost and adrift so i feel like he went and attached himself to the first thing he could that felt like it meant smth...and that was, unfortunately, roderick and i think that he was still caught up in all those ideals yknow!!! when he swore himself to the kingsguard before he really got a peak under the curtain and saw what roderick ~truly was, esp as roderick has grown worse and worse and worse overtime and yeah!!!!! bc roderick has this machine purpose-built to scoop up lost young men and feed them into his military and yeah!!! the machine clearly works, he's used it to run roughshod over most of the world yknow, and tristan was one of those lost young men who got caught and now he's trapped, i feel like

so yeah!!! i know this does ~not answer your question but that's simply bc tristan does not have an answer for you!! rn he's just tryna forestall a war that he frankly can never stop, but he'll never be able to look edmund in the eye again if he doesn't try his v best for him!!!!! and he truly believes that tryna his best for edmund is tryna stop this from happening!!!

but yesssss!!!! i def think there's respect and, on tristan's side anyway, even admiration here bc i do think tristan can clearly see that alaric is not his brother! (tristan ~does know smth abt ~not being like ur siblings after all hahaha) and i think tristan, further, hopes that he can count on alaric as an ally to try and help him forestall all of this!!! but yeah even tristan does know this fight is largely hopeless, he just can't give up is all!

I feel like Alaric & Tristan might be friends? They definitely know each other, given that their siblings are married & Alaric and Godfrey are friends!

I do feel like their relationship might be a little complicated, because Alaric does NOT trust Amira at all and even though he and Godfrey have gotten to be friends, he doesn't fully even trust Godfrey, either. (He knows that there may eventually be a line drawn in the sand and Alaric knows that he and Godfrey will be on different sides of the Edmund vs Arthur war)

But despite his friendship with Tristan's brother, I think that Alaric might actually trust Tristan the most out of the Calainons? He seems more straightforward/honorable/honest/genuine that either of his siblings and from what Alaric has gathered from their past, this makes sense that Tristan was spared a lot of the hardships/trauma the other two went through and he isn't as ~hard~ as either of them. Plus, I do think that Alaric knows that Tristan takes his vow as captain of the kingsguard v seriously!

That being said, Alaric isn't 100% sure where Tristan would land if war ever broke out amongst the family (although he suspects it would be w/ Edmund for obvious reasons). Still, Alaric doesn't think that Tristan would ever be involved in anything underhanded??? Like, Alaric is certain that he will always know exactly where he stands with Tristan, even if they happen to be on opposite sides???

All this is to say, is that I do think that Alaric would like Tristan a good deal and might even be a little more relaxed around him than he otherwise would be, since I think that Godfrey def knows how to loosen Alaric up a bit?? (Although if Amira is around Alaric is super tense lmao so it all depends on the company I guess).

Ok I have some headcanons about the age difference of the Finwë's descendants.

First of all, I like to imagine Fëanor, Fingolfin, Maedhros and maybe Findis almost the same age. I want Maedhros to hang out with his half-uncle and half-aunt and be really good friends with them. Maybe they even have a small gang of their own. I want Maedhros to be Nolo's best friend, swap manly jokes and have a lot of embarrassing stories about each other. It would make their Beleriand friendship/aligning much more intense and passionate.

Ofc Fëanor would not join them, because he's an adult and he has a kid, and he hates Fingolfin, but I like to think that Fëanor is close with his firstborn because their age difference is tiny by elven measuring. I think this situation is quite possible, we know Fëanor married in his youth and we know Finwë met Indis while Fëanor was doing his exploring, so what if Fëanor and Finwë met their wifes-to-be at the same time? I think young Maedhros and young Fëanor had a lot in common, starting with their adoration of linguistics.

In case Maedhros and Fingolfin are VERY CLOSE in age(Maedhros maybe even older... in theory...), the whole getting-married-or-getting-a-younger-brother thing plays out in fresh colors. Maedhros is an adult by the time Maglor is born, but he still has a huge soft spot for children, so he takes caring for him very seriously. And Fingolfin is completely overwhelmed by the realization that he's about to marry and have kids, and be responsible, and have some dad duties...

I love to imagine Celegorm being close in age to Maglor and being counted among "the elders'' and having a notable age gap between him and Moryo&Curvo. That'd also explain why Maedhros is not that close with Caranthir and Curufin - he has already helped to raise Maglor and Celegorm, who are not the easiest kids to bear with.

And this all makes Maedhros' relationship with his cousins completely different. He remembers Finarfin as he was still wearing his diapers! He might have said to Fingolfin something as "I hope you wouldn't ask me to look after your babies, I've had enough of it" and then Fingon is born! Some of his cousins may consider him to be their uncle("mom when is uncle Nelyo coming?""UNCLE WHO?!")!

So yeah, there's room for imagination.

Yakumo Lovers Book: a sweet scene from episode 34

minor spoilers ahead

Yakumo teams up with Kage and in a twist of events Yakumo agrees to send "his doll" as a hostage! Ofc our MC herself is willing to do that! she wants to help him as much as she can and can't leave all the fighting to him! she goes to meet him later on and he hugs her! his heterochromia is kind of visible from up close which wasn't the case before. like if it happened in a card story, I might have forgotten lol (just glance at his left eye. yeah that'd be on your right when you view this post)

just why does he adore her this much? why does he call her my doll? does he have a connection with her past self? seeing as he's immortal and all, he can have a connection with the MC a thousand years ago! but does he?

those things are not revealed yet! But here also, the MC takes this passive stance in Yakumo's MS and I don't see her getting to do much action. Well, this isn't me whining but I do feel she lacks action in the night faction books... well, except kagemaru and akiyasu ones. The reasons for this may be complicated and I have done my own analysis in other posts. even so I guess after seeing her fighting it out with her comrades, one kind of expects she'd play an active role. but then yes, the story doesn't end here and we have sequels for all these books in the coming months/years

These are just some explanations on some of the stats I gave them as well as some general thoughts on their characters.. in like a weird mix, idk I'm just writing things as I think of them

Alder: They're very much in the process of changing disposition when they return.. "home", so that's why there's a lot of arrows around the place - during their exile they became very apathetic, but coming back they're starting to get angry and vindictive as well - possibly thanks to Freedom's influence, but also getting back just put the light on how bad things had been before and brought out a lot of repressed feelings. But their passion is still 0 because like.. they might lash out occasionally, but they'll usually not keep it up and just revert to being apathetic. Speaking of, I put their confidence as pretty high despite this, don't remember exactly why now because they definitely step back a lot from leadership and such these days.. I think it's still something that's a bit ingrained and not fully beaten out of them though, so if they actually got around to caring about something they would have the confidence to attempt to achieve it - and ofc they still have abilities that most humans don't so they'd feel pretty confident against them, both in battle and conversation.

Monroe: He hasn't really changed much, before the exile or after, so for now his stats are pretty static, we'll see if things change though. Oh yeah, I was thinking about his priorities and him caring about praise/other's opinions and fame.. those are complicated, I'd say he cares somewhat about the general public opinion but mostly about what people he respect think about him, he doesn't have to like them and it doesn't have to be exactly something positive - like having the Overseer see him as a threat would be a positive thing to him. Also debated filling in "fun" because I don't think everyone appreciates his humour... but I'm sure there's always someone so I guess I'll give him that. Debated about his cooking skills for a while too, but figured he'd have been shit at it to start with but as he learned to handle his powers he became very good at sensing/controlling temperature so I figured that'd be an advantage.

As for the stats themselves, most I think translate pretty easily from the in-game stats like charisma and strength (though I put them pretty low because there's room to grow, but obviously they'd be much more powerful than a normal human still), health I just imagine as pretty high because the Commander is put through a lot but somehow survives... Things like beliefs were a bit tricky though, I kinda went with it as "things they find important/worry about" (though Alder definitely believes in luck, or specifically bad luck and that they have a lot of it). Also, I put them both as gullible not so much because they believe just what anyone says, but there are a lot of people who try to manipulate them and as a result they have to either trust no one or believe people who might not seem trustworthy (they also don't tend to have much choice), in Alder's case it's also because they don't really give a shit, while as for Monroe he just craves affection and attention. Oh yeah, the beauty stat? No idea what to put there, like that's very subjective and I did these as more of how they actually are/are perceived by others than as how they see themselves so?? Like I'm sure there are some people who find them attractive, most probably find them scary and a lot of the time they haven't had a bath/changed clothes for months so like that's not gonna help.. idk that's a weird thing to have on a character sheet. Hygiene is also very situational, but Alder probably spends a little more time on that considering their long hair.
